Challenge #197 - Tall & Skinny

Hey there, and thanks for stopping by the Kraft Journal challenge #197 - Tall and Skinny

Take a look at the great designs we have this week.

Marsha Drain

Most of the cards Marsha makes are A-2 size but she had fun designing this tall, skinny card.  The dimensions are 4 1/4 x 8 1/2".  She started with a piece of Light Kraft Cardstock, folding it lengthwise, cutting off just a few inches.  The Grungy Prim Tag seems a perfect tag to use considering the sentiment.  Marsha loves these tags - they are already stained!  The tag is tied onto three strands of blue cord from the Dark Jewel Hemp Cord collection, using the original string that comes with the tag.  For more detail of her card, visit her blog: Gramma's Room.

Karen Letchworth
For this week's Tall & Skinny Challenge, DT Member Karen Letchworth did something a little bit different.  She used a Lunch Bag Kraft Number 10 Open-End Policy Envelope which really is tall and skinny.  In fact, it measures 4 1/8" x 9 1/2" and Karen thought it would be perfect to use as a gift for someone who is an avid reader.  She filled it with hand-made bookmarks, and will use that (along with a book) as a gift.  What a great gift-giving idea, and at only $0.35 each, they're a great Kraft Outlet bargain.  Karen decorated the Lunch Bag Kraft Number 10 Open-End Policy Envelope with a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket, some flowers and a brad, a length of Black & White Polka Dot Washi Tape, a Jenni Bowlin Hodge Podge Magpie Sticker (collect), and then she tied several lengths of Black Baker's Twine around it.  You're invited to stop by Karen's Blog, My Cup Runneth Over, to see more of her art.  She really hopes you'll play along in this week's fun Tall & Skinny Challenge.

Anitra Tovar
Anitra really enjoyed this "Tall and Skinny" challenge.  For her project she created a card using the Large Buff/Ivory Note Cards.  She cut the card down using a decorative punch to give it a "skinny" look.  Next she matted some polka dot patterned paper onto the card.  She then added some Vintage Music Sheet paper onto her card.  For Anitra's image she stamped onto some Buff/Ivory Cardsotck and used alcohol markers to color her image.  Using more patterned paper she added a small banner and a tag, which she tucked behind the Vintage Music Sheet.  To finish her card Anitra added some Hemp cording.  For more information on Anitra's project please visit her blog Stamping While They Sleep.
